Solstice

I have GOT to get it together. I'll call my outfits one thing in my inventory and quite another at GV (this blog).

WHAT I'M WEARING:

DRESS: Crossroads Gown (Paper Couture)
SHOES: Suede Wrap Wedge in White (SLink)
HAIR: Uma in Bistre (Maitreya)
EARRINGS and NECKLACE: Cathartik (Amorous)
CLUTCH: Catalan Clutch in Honeysuckle (Indyra Originals)

So ... I found Amorous at the Vintage Fair. Then, I went to the Amorous mainstore and then lost my mind and my linden. I had to have bought at least five sets of the mainstore. This is some outSTANDING jewelry.

One problem I have with some jewelry is that the jewels or stones are not big enough to see!  These are sizable and "cooperative," in that you are offered enough color options to match the jewelry well with any outfit you choose to don.

WHAT I"M WEARING:

Skin: (You know it by now! So I'll just skip the skin unless I change a makeup option)
Hair: Sonya in Treacle [Dark Browns] (Truth)
Dress: Aeme Vested Minidress in Olivia (the Sea Hole)
Shoes: Echo Heels (SLink)
Earrings: Jewelry Stud Earrings (Sian Birke)
Necklace: Crazy Coco in Purple (LOULOU&CO)
Bracelet: MOOLTO Hunt Gift by Elemental Earth Designs

Did you notice I listed a Truth hair that was not listed in my "You Want the Truth?" entry? Well... why, yes, I did buy another Truth hair.

I don't know why I hadn't bought Sonya until today. I'd seen it worn by one of my friends previously. But I decided to stalk the Truth blog today. Flipping through the pages, I found Sonya and four others that I wanted and did eventually buy.

Then, of the four new releases today (and one more for men), I bought three of those four. I also added more color packs of Cate and bought Lilia.

Sonya is so much. It is spicy. It is sexy. It is mysterious. It is daring.

Anyway, don't you just love these SLink shoes? Remember, I showed SLink shoes in the last entry as well. What you pay for is what you get. You'll pay, I think, at least 650L, but you will get THAT (points to "shoe close-up" picture).

I've gotta do a blog roll.

A demain....

You Want the Truth?

It's been a LONG time since I last posted. I'm sorry; boyfriend surprised me with a puppy over two weeks ago, and it's been all about our Toby every since. Before that, I just didn't have the motivation to post the pictures I had taken.

I've decided to dedicate this blog to the splendid Truth Hawks and their lovely hairs. If you've no Truth Hair, well, then shame on you! I've got 22 Truth hairs in my inventory, and I'll never stop adding to my repertoire.

This hair is sheer perfection. It's greatly detailed, it offers coloring options for hair (such as highlight colors) and for accessories, and it moves beautifully.

I'll post ten of my favorites of my favorite brand of hair to this entry. Enjoy! And pay them a visit! NOOOOW (Well... right after you read this entry!)

CLEO

I included the back of this hairstyle as well. Just gaze upon that detail! You can see the fine lines and curves of this hair. Look at the hairs that hang upon the nape of the neck? I mean, really, it's beautiful. All color packs include the non-streaked version, as shown here, and a streaked version (with many, many color options).

HADLEY:

I'got Hadley at the major Truth District sale that went on maybe ... a month ago, if that(?) I love this hair so much that I bought the fatpack - colours, gingers, reds, dark browns, and blacks and whites. I had an issue with the purchase of the hair because this sale was MAJOR, as I said before. It was super laggy, and the purchase just wasn't going through. But I sent a notecard to Truth Hawks, and let me tell you, they were so helpful and so accessible. You'd think that with their success, with their standing, they'd be distant or uncaring. Not at all. They helped me plus more. Each color pack includes two versions of Hadley, and each version has a "with roots," as shown below, and a "without roots" version. (The possibilities!)

JEAN:

I love Jean! I purchased this in black, and while I like black, I think I'll stick to my usual "dark brown" pack unless I'm in a dark kind of mood or it's Halloween! I've always thought that hair that matches or almost matches the wearer's skin tone is a beautiful thing, so I like my dark brown! Jean includes streaked and non-streaked versions.

JOLIE:

Jolie was one of the very first hairs that I bought from Truth. I did buy "browns" instead of "dark browns" by mistake, but it still looks amazing, I say. Any Jolie color pack you buy will include the upper Jolie, the lower Jolie, the full Jolie, the streaked upper Jolie, and the full streaked Jolie. It's a very long style, so if you'd like to shorten it a bit, you'd wear only the upper, streaked or otherwise.

KITTY:

I hate to say this, because I love them all, but this is probably my favorite Truth hair. It fits every occasion for me. I can "feel" casual, formal, or sexy; regardless of how I feel, I can wear this hair. LOVE IT. Each color pack includes the streaked and non-streaked versions. Plus, there's five or so options for the hair clip!

NEVE:

You've seen this one before. I believe it was featured in my very first entry, "Exorcised." Each pack includes a streaked and non-streaked version. Both versions are scripted for color options. In the non-streaked version, you can choose amongst a multitude of colors for the hair band. In the streaked version, you have the same depth of color control for the streak and the hair band. It's lovely. See for yourself!

PANDORA:

The vendor art showed Pandora with a hair clip. I really wanted it but was really broke at the time. (Sadness). I'll have to go back and get it soon! Just like Neve, it falls beautifully amongst the face. Each pack includes streaked and non-streaked (with color options, of course) versions.

PRISCILLA:

What can I say about Priscilla? It's so rock and roll to me. You've got the sexy bangs and a sexy side ponytail. It's just pure sex and rock-n-roll. Drugs too if you're into that sort of thing (:P). Each pack includes two versions of the hairstyle, and both versions offer streaked and non-streaked versions. I'm wearing the non-streaked Priscilla 2. Isn't it grand? GET IT!

TILLY:

This is another rock-n-roll one. I created a few outfits that feature this hair, and most, if not all, of them are rocker, rebel, or bad girl outfits. (Rawr). I'm a big fan! Each color packs includes non-streaked and streaked (with many color options. You should assume that all streaked Truth hair, because they're awesome, will offer you many color options).

VANESSA:

Finally, we have Vanessa. OMFG, I change my mind; this is my favorite (or I just give up on picking a favorite of my favorites of my favorite brand of SL hair. Try that on!). It's so sexy, so irresistible. How could I not have purchased this when I first laid eyes on it? As I walked into the store, it said, "Prepare ... to be ... woo-ed." I replied, "Yes, please."  What can I say, it seduced me. Like Jolie, each pack includes a non-streaked upper, non-streaked lower (which you can leave off if you don't want the full length of the style), full Jolie, a streaked upper and then a streaked full Jolie.

These are the other Truth Hairs I own (in case you feel I have good taste and have deduced - nah, induced :P - that the other 12 I own must also be hot):

1. Becky
2. Brandi
3. Cate
4. Jocelyn
5. Talullah
6. Valerie
7. Emerald
8. Penny
9. Harper
10. Astrid
11. Gabriel
12. Trinity

There's so much more to be seen in-world and at the Marketplace. I'd suggest you go to the store in-world because you get to try on the demos there instead of having to drop the boxed object out of your inventory and unpack elsewhere. Plus, go enjoy the Truth experience.GO! Go before I raid them of all their goods, and there will be none left for you.

Underneath

I didn't forget you!

I'm pretty much a walking, talking, and breathing zombie by the time I get off from work. So I just haven't been able to form sentences enough to update The Girl Vermilion lately.

But I come bearing gifts!

Meticulous

"Meticulous" is one of my favorite words. And in this entry, I get to show off one of the most meticulous brands in SL, Miel! (Cue preaching...) If you haven't heard of Miel, then shame on you!

I stumbled upon Miel while shopping on the MP. There, I found an item and decided I had to see the in-world store. I went, and it's just been love ever since. Anyway, here is an outfit I composed yesterday featuring some three Miel items.

And here is why Miel is "meticulous":

As you can see, my necklace and my bracelet show specific names. Of course, I didn't buy it this way; both items come with a HUD that allows you to customize 16 spaces. And you may customize with letters, numbers, and characters (including hearts and smiley faces).

The shoes that I am wearing are equally customizable. You may change the color of four elements of the shoe: the actual shoe, the piping, the strap, and the button. And the shoe that you click on is the shoe you are customizing. Thus, you can totally have a "raw umber" right shoe and a "blackberry" left shoe if you wanted. Awesome, no? I forgot to mention, the shoe can be changed to 12 different colors! Talk about options!

Thus, if you like have an insane amount of options, Miel is the way to go!

I'll finish this entry once I have more time. I'm leaving for work!

Ja mata!

Showstopper

I know, I know;  I just made Blogger officially hate me.

What I'm wearing:

Skin: Phoebe2 (LAQ)
Hair: Vappu (Tukinowaguma)
Lipstick: Fire (LpD*
Shirt: Chiffon Shirt, Pink Roses (GizzA)
Pants: Sheens' Leather Gray Pants (*The Gentry)*
Boots: Moshi ankle boots with roses (ALEIDA)
Bracelet: Nevermore (LOULOU&CO)*
Earrings: Superspike (Gems and Kisses)*
Necklace: Pearls and Diamonds, white (*JD*)*

* Guess what the items marked with an asterisk have in common? I paid absolutely nothing for them! I am a member of so many shopping and bargain-hunting groups that ... well, I can make pretty decent outfits without spending so much linden (or is it "so many lindens"? Anyway...)

First, the lipstick. I LOVE this group gift lipstick. I'm pretty sure it's featured in at least 75% of my outfits. If not, that's a shame. LpD (Les Petit Details) is one of my many favorite shops as anything "hipster" or quirky is going to demand my attention. I consider my style to be "hipster," so LpD is one of my many favorite "hipster" shops. They also make great skins.

Second, the pants were part of an outfit called "Anastasia's Eyes" from the Gentry. I didn't pay for this outfit, and it is a great outfit. I wish I could remember where I got it from. If I do remember, I will update this blog entry (but I shop so much and stalk bargains like a crazed woman, so I doubt I'll remember. I'm sorry).

All the jewelry items (necklace, bracelet, and earrings) are hunt items! So what shall we take from this little fact? HUNTS = LOVE. I do as many QUALITY hunts (not just hunts) as I can do. The earrings from G&K (Gems and Kisses) will probably be featured in many, many outfits because they are perhaps my favorite pair of earrings. Well... there is Donna Flora ... which is yet ANOTHER creator worthy of her own entry!

(Sorry. Tangent...)

I included a sort of "outline" view of my hair from the profile angle because the pictures really do no justice to the actual hair style. So, by seeing the "outlines" of the hair, you can see the shape of it and, of course, just how great this hair is. By the way, if you're looking for elegant and/or "haute couture" hair, Tukinowaguma is one of the best places to visit. Ooooh, I sense another creator-specific entry.

Do you see where this is headed? If I even mention a brand name, chances are that I am obsessed enough to want to give it its own entry.

I discovered GizzA in my first MOOLTO Sisters Hunt. (Another "btw": If you have never participated in a MOOLTO hunt, you have been missing out. Out of all the hunts I have completed, MOOLTO is my favorites, hands down). When I got to GizzA during the hunt, I decided to look around because ... I'm just not one of those hunters who get the freebie and run. I actually adhere to the very purposes of hunts (to garner exposure for the participating stores). Anyway, I started looking around and actually purchased five items after I picked up my hunt item.

Exorcised

Actually, this outfit shows me as being dressed for the gym, maybe, for exercise. But I'm feeling witty today, so I just called this outfit "Exorcised."

What I'm Wearing:

Skin: Pheobe4 (LAQ)
Hair: Neve (Truth)
Outfit: Winter Explorer Indian Brown (Opium)*

*The bodysuit, the leg warmers and boots, and the arm warmers are all part of Opium's Winter Explorer Indian Brown outfit. I also have this outfit in black because, hey, why not buy such a WONDERFUL outfit in more than one color?

It is very rare to find a complete outfit that doesn't sacrifice quality in the name of quantity or "fullness" of the outfit. So I was pleased to find this particular outfit from Opium. You get a truly complete outfit (not "jewelry included" complete, but "shoes and other accessories included" complete), and every item included is so very wonderful. Opium doesn't put out crap products in the first place, but WOW; for 299L, this outfit is a STEAL.

You can see everything that is included for yourself in this brown version of the outfit. (I apologize in advance for all the women and "gifters" who will be 299L short as a result of the posting of this link):  You'll thank me later! NO, REALLY.

A demain!

(I will always say "A demain" whether or not I actually return tomorrow, but you loooove me anyway!)
